During the late 1920s the stationers L. G. Sloan Ltd were agents for imported playing cards, such as "New Era" concave playing cards from U.S.A.  During the 1930s special brands of playing cards made by The Universal Playing Card Co. Ltd were adopted with an ace of spades and joker exclusive to L. G. Sloan.
