Comic Conversation

Old Time “Comic Conversation” cards published by McLoughlin Bros, N.Y., c.1887. The game consists of 40 illustrated “Conversation Cards” - each with a different figure of a man or a woman (20 of each) wearing period costumes. The male cards have the text of a question such as “May I hope to win a smile from you?” or “Do you think you could return my love?” - something a man might ask a young woman. The cards with women on them have answers such as “Possibly” or “I may tell you in time”. The game would be played by shuffling the cards and creating “Comic Conversations” between the boys and girls.
