C. Della Penna S.A., Buenos Aires, was an important Argentine playing-card manufacturer, producing cards under brands including Inca, Porteño and Guarany. Its Spanish-suited cards used a Catalan-derived design that became characteristic of the Argentine market and contributed to the development of the wider South American Spanish Pattern. Inca was produced in successive editions from at least the 1930s until 1978, while Porteño and Guarany were among its other principal brands. The company traded under successive forms including C. Della Penna & Cía, C. Della Penna S.A. and C. Della Penna S.A.C.I. Its playing-card business was taken over in 1978.
