J.-M. Simon

J-M. Simon, Saint-Max, France, was founded in 1946 by Jean-Marie Simon, who established a playing-card workshop near Nancy and launched the La Ducale brand. In 1962, the firm, together with Waddington, acquired B.P. Grimaud, bringing France's oldest major playing-card manufacturer into the new J.-M. Simon – France Cartes group. The company produced playing cards under the La Ducale and Grimaud names and also published numerous historical facsimiles and artistic packs. It was renamed France Cartes in 1985, and subsequently passed through several changes of ownership. The Grimaud, La Ducale and France Cartes names remain associated with the business.
