I’m Juan Erazo, an illustrator and designer based in Mexico City. My work is driven by a long-standing interest in mythology, visual storytelling, history, and the ways symbolic systems can be translated into contemporary objects. Over the past two years I’ve been developing El Quinto Sol: The Mesoamerican Cosmos, my first fully custom playing-card deck, combining original illustration with research into Mesoamerican mythology, cosmology, codices, and pictographic traditions. I publish this work under The Mythographer, a creative identity focused on exploring mythology through illustration, design, film, and playable objects.
