I lived in a remote cabin in the 1970's, in the Rocky Mountains, at Duck Lake near Ward, Colorado. It was owned by Hazel Schmoll, who was born in Ward, educated at Vassar, and served as the Colorado State Botanist from 1919 to 1935. She never lived in the cabin, but rented it out to us for years. I found these cards while changing some shelving in the kitchen. We had no running water or electricity, but it was a great place to live. My profile picture is me kayaking at 76, in an inflatable kayak, because I can't handle a hard shell boat anymore. Still fun, though.
