Hi, I'm Paul Benhaim. The Hemp Deck is my new 54-card playing card deck about the many uses, histories, and possibilities of hemp.
I have worked with hemp for thirty years, mostly in food and materials. I founded Hemp Foods Australia, co-founded Elixinol Global, and have written eighteen books about the plant. You can find more about the deck at hempcards.com.au.
The four suits divide the subject into four themes: Clubs explore ecology and cultivation; Diamonds look at industry and materials; Hearts focus on food and nourishment; and Spades turn to consciousness and medicine. Each card carries a fact about hemp as well as its illustration.
The artwork combines a visionary, sacred botanical style with deep emerald, antique gold, and parchment tones. AI was used in the development of the artwork. The card back features a mandala of hemp leaves around a golden seed, while the two jokers take contrasting cosmic and warm, golden directions.
The deck is poker size, 63 by 88 mm, printed on 300gsm blue-core stock with a linen finish, glossy varnish, round corners, and shrink wrapping. It includes a standard 52-card pack plus two jokers.
This limited first edition is being offered through the Kickstarter campaign, which runs until 28 August 2026 with a goal of AU$3,000. Worldwide shipping is planned from September 2026, and the decks are already produced.
