AT THE TOP Playing Cards
Exclusively designed for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai
I was in Dubai for a few days in 2016 and wanted to visit the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. The tower, which was opened in 2010, is 829 meters high and has 163 floors. The Top is on the 124th floor and has an observation gallery and a souvenir shop where I purchased these playing cards. I was quite surprised to find that they were not just average English pattern souvenir cards but a nice variation in black and silver-grey. According to the box they were "exclusively designed for At The Top" so I presume that they are only available at the Burj Khalifa. They have a striking back design showing the Burj Khalifa in silver on a black background. The cards are made in China and the pack has 52 cards and 2 jokers.

I started with just collecting jokers, but that soon led me to complete packs of cards and eventually to specialising in old and antique playing cards, particularly those of C.L. Wüst of Frankfurt, Germany. I am presently the Dutch representative of the I.P.C.S. and the auctioneer at the IPCS conventions.
