Gender Equality in playing cards

Gender Equality

Gender equality is based on the principle that all people should be treated with respect, dignity, and fairness, regardless of their gender identity or expression. Many traditional playing cards depict a hierarchy of male figures in the court cards, and reinforce old stereotypes. Accordingly, decks that feature gender-neutral designs, reversed male/female roles, non-binary court cards or gender-neutral suits are emerging.
