The story begins with Antonio López y Compañía, established in Barcelona in 1855 at 104 Conde del Asalto (now Carrer Nou de la Rambla), although actual card production probably didn't begin until 1857–58. Around 1863 Antonio López withdrew from the business, leaving Francisco Fulladosa y Vieta, Antonio Morera y Buxó and possibly other partners. The business subsequently became Fulladosa y Cía.
In 1883 the business came under the direction of Antonio Morera Buxó who continued to use the Fulladosa name and trademark which survived the original firm.
