Johann Anton Steinberger (17??-1860) was one of several Frankfurt makers who specialised in topical and humorous packs that appealed to a growing bourgeois market. He was active from 1817 to 1860. Apprenticed to Wüst, he established himself as a card merchant in Frankfurt, Germany. His widow succeeded him from 1860 to 1872. In 1872, Johann Müller took over the business.
