One wonders about the wisdom of producing a pack with 52 different world records at a specific point in time (2011) when records are being broken all the time all over the world. Featured here are 52 different world records – as they stood in 2011. The text is set at an angle. For the red suits a dark blue background has been used and for the black suits a light blue one. The card values are superimposed on the suit signs in two corners. Looking on the internet, it would appear that other editions of these cards exist, presumably from different years. See the box►

In 1977 he joined the newly formed playing-card department at Stanley Gibbons in London before setting up his own business in Edinburgh four years later. His collecting interests include playing cards, postcards, stamps (especially playing cards on stamps) and sugar wrappers. He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards. He lives near Toulouse in France.
