Hogwarts
Harry Potter Hogwarts playing cards, c.2016.
Harry Potter Hogwarts playing cards, the ultimate in playing card trickery! Inspired by the four houses of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the deck features non-standard suits in the designs of Ravenclaw, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. Each court card carries the arms of one of the school houses, while the corresponding ace carries a large depiction of the house symbol. The cards have been intentionally printed to look old and dirty. See the embossed tin►

Above: Harry Potter Hogwarts playing cards, distributed by "Paladone Products Ltd", designed in the UK presumably by Paladone, manufactured in China, c.2016. 52 cards plus 2 identical jokers. The set comes in a metal embossed burgundy tin, featuring the crest of Hogwarts with the Latin motto “Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus” (Never Tickle a Sleeping Dragon).

I have adored playing cards since before I was seven years old, and was brought up on packs of Waddington's No 1. As a child I was fascinated by the pictures of the court cards.
Over the next fifty years I was seduced by the artwork in Piatnik's packs and became a collector of playing cards.
Seeking more information about various unidentified packs I discovered the World of Playing Cards website and became an enthusiastic contributor researching and documenting different packs of cards.
I describe my self as a playing card archaeologist, using detective work to identify and date obscure packs of cards discovered in old houses, flea markets and car boot sales.
