Soroptimist International Scotland South Region
Celebrating 100 years of Soroptimist International, 1921-2021.
The first Soroptimist Club was created in Oakland, CA, USA, in 1921. Soroptimist International is a volunteer service organisation for women who work for peace. The Scotland South Region decided to contribute to the celebrations of the centenary by producing a special pack of cards featuring 52 past and present members, the most well-known perhaps being Winnie Ewing. Clearly it was thought inappropriate to put any of the members on the Jokers ……. so there are none! An extensive booklet accompanies the pack, providing a short biography of each Soroptimist depicted on the cards. See the box►
Above: Soroptimist International Scotland South Region playing cards published by SI Scotland South Region, 2021. Printer unknown. 52 cards + 1 extra card in tuck box, + 58-page booklet. Size: 56 x 87 mm.
