Goodall 1916 Rockleigh Sample Book
Complete contents of a sample book by Goodall
I was very lucky to be able to obtain four rare sample books of playing cards made by Goodall and De La Rue. They originate from the collection of Felix Alfaro Fournier who purchased the archives of the De La Rue factory in a 1980 Southeby's auction. Because these albums are extremely rare and mostly not available to collectors I have decided to put the contents online so that they can be seen by everybody who visits this site. The photos are not professional but should be good enough for most people. I have photographed every relevant page in all four sample books which will be presented here in four seperate galleries. I hope you will enjoy viewing them.
This album shows playing cards and labels from the Rockleigh series, also Linette, Clan Tartan, Royal and Salon series of playing cards.
Here are links to the other three sample books:

I'm British but I have now lived in the Netherlands for more than 50 years and am still enjoying every minute of it. I started collecting playing cards in the early 1980’s after speaking with my neighbour who was at that time a croupier in a casino. I started with just collecting jokers, but that soon led me to complete packs of cards and eventually to specialising in old and antique playing cards, particularly those of C.L. Wüst of Frankfurt, Germany. I am presently the Dutch representative of the I.P.C.S. and the auctioneer at the IPCS conventions.
