SCANIA 1891-1991
Centenary playing cards illustrating vintage trucks and buses produced by the Swedish company Scania.
Scania is the Latin name for the Swedish province of Skåne where one half of the old Scania-Vabis company had its headquarters. Scania currently has several different manufacturing facilities in Europe, South America and Asia, producing mainly trucks and buses. Thirteen of their early cars, buses and lorries are shown on these cards, all in horizontal format, and all named discreetly in Swedish. The Jokers are of the standard type used by Carta Mundi in their packs with Swedish faces. Multiple old car horns are featured on the reverse and also on both sides of the tuck box. The pack was produced to mark the company’s centenary in 1991. Since 2014, Scania has been part of the Volkswagen Group.
