Antracit Prager Single-headed
A simple modern adaptation of a historical pattern.
ABOne is one of the current manufacturers of traditional card designs in the Czech Republic. In addition to the usual version of the Prague pattern, it also offers this Anthracite variant. A simple update of the original images consists of replacing the white area of the card sheet with black. The original motif is separated by a thin white line so that the outline is not broken and the correct display is maintained. In order not to lose the designation of the card value ten with the Roman numeral X, the numeral is assigned a separate colour, which differs in each suit.
The ace cards show different language variants of the word black. The manufacturer's logo is located on the eight of bells, in its traditional place. • See the box

The back represents a modern transformation of the traditional diagonal hatching, naturally in black. The manufacturer offers cards in various sizes: in the standard 60 x 100 mm format, reduced to 56 x 86 and 39 x 59, but also enlarged to 83 x 135 mm.

My relationship with cards grew from playing to collecting and transformed into publishing as well. I am part of the team at Counter Clockwise, a small company that publishes traditional card games.
