Baraja Española de Pintores Murcianos
A Spanish-suited pack as conceived by 48 different artists from the region of Murcia.
Several individuals and organisations collaborated to produce this pack to promote the work of local Murcian artists. Forty-eight artists created one card each. The artist’s name appears in two corners of every card. Well established as well as younger artists contributed work to the project. The four suit-signs have been reduced to basic shapes and one colour each, superimposed on a black circle: Coins, a yellow circle; Cups, a red triangle; Swords, a plain blue sword; Batons, a simple green club. These are more clearly shown on the sleeve of the box. The accompanying booklet (in Spanish) includes contact details for each artist.
Above: Baraja Española de Pintores Murcianos printed by A.G. Novograf, S.A., Murcia, for the Comunidad Autonoma de la Region de Murcia, Spain, 1986. 48 cards + 2 (identical) extra cards + booklet in Spanish, in box with sleeve. Size: 61.5 x 95.5 mm.
