New Musical Express
54 black and white photographs of solo singers, duos and groups popular around 1990.
New Musical Express was founded as a newspaper in 1952 and later turned into a magazine. It was the first British newspaper to include a singles chart. Early on it championed new British groups such as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Included here are all the ‘greats’ from the pop music world around 1990. There are 54 black and white photographs of named stars, mostly solo artistes. On the 6s, an extra ‘6’ has been added top centre, presumably to avoid confusion with the 9s. Photo credits are given on most cards down the right-hand side. See the box►
