France 98 was the popular term by which the football World Cup held in France in 1998 was known. Seven of the competing teams are represented in this game of 7 families – Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Nigeria. Half of the space is taken up with a comic illustration by J. Loïs of one of six ‘members’ of each ‘team’, namely Le Capitaine, L’attaquant, Le Défenseur, Le Goal, L’entraineur, and Les Supporters. In addition to these names, each card includes the name of the country, the tournament logo, the national flag, the position of the country on a world map, and the position on or off the field where each ‘team member’ can usually be found. The France 98 mascot, Footix, is featured on the back playing with a football against a blue background. See the box
