Queen Elizabeth II Army Memorial Museum
Various armoured vehicles on a pack from New Zealand’s National Army Museum.
The Queen Elizabeth II Army Memorial Museum (now called the National Army Museum) in Waiouru, New Zealand, opened in 1978. It functions as the museum of the New Zealand Army and has a particularly fine collection of medals including 13 Victoria Crosses. One of the early souvenir items produced for the museum’s gift shop was this pack of cards featuring armoured vehicles from around the world. Those vehicles include battle tanks, armoured personnel carriers, scout cars and assault guns from Argentina, France, Great Britain, India, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, USA, USSR and West Germany. Essential details are printed beneath each horizontal, black and white drawing. The Joker features an early musketeer.
