Paris Souvenir
Coloured drawings of the principal tourist attractions found in Paris, notably the Eiffel Tower.
An attractive box drew me to this pack; however, the contents turned out to be rather disappointing. If you are a fan of the Eiffel Tower, you will like this pack: the famous structure appears in two corners of every card, in the centre of each ace, and 48 times on the reverse! Other than that, the court cards feature coloured drawings of the principal tourist attractions found in Paris, each one named. The double-ended Joker shows a cat wearing a jester’s cap. The indices are in French. Disappointingly, like so many new packs recently reviewed, a non-opaque board has been used so the cards are see-through. • See the box

He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards. He lives near Toulouse in France.
