Nautically themed watercolours depicting Neptune, mermaids, sailors and various marine objects.

Just six court card designs were used in this pack: two each for the kings, queens and jacks, depicting Neptune, mermaids and sailors, respectively. These have bilingual indices in French and English. The aces and numeral cards are perhaps more interesting, with the pips replaced by marine objects (C), sailor’s knots (H), pennants (S), and lighthouses (D), arranged diagonally. One of each of these symbols also appears in the top right-hand corner of every card in the pack. The border resembles that of an old sea chart. The central design on the reverse is a ship’s wheel.

‘Air Marin’ translates to ‘sea air’ in English. See the box
