Sannois dans les étoiles
Celebrities and buildings associated with Sannois, a commune in the suburbs of Paris.
Sannois may well not be somewhere that many people have heard of outside France but it is clearly proud of its heritage. It is in fact a commune located 15.2 km from the centre of Paris. Famous men and women associated with the commune appear on the kings, queens and aces, while notable local buildings can be found on the jacks. The most famous of the celebrities are Maurice Utrillo, the painter, and Cyrano de Bergerac, the novelist and playwright. All are listed with brief descriptions in French on the double-sided extra card . A monochrome colour scheme (grey-blue) has been used throughout. On all of the court cards and aces one can read “Une ville fière de son passé, qui se tourne vers l’avenir…” (“A town proud of its past, which is turning towards the future…”). This is an appropriate motto for a town at the turn of the millennium. The millennium is actually only mentioned on the reverse and on the box (“an 2000”) but collectors of millennium packs might like to consider adding this one to their collections.
