Naipe Navarro
Historical figures and artefacts from Navarre with designs by M. Sinués for the Navarre Association of Volunteer Blood Donors.
Although this pack depicts named historical figures and artefacts from the Spanish province of Navarre, its main purpose was to promote the activities of the Navarre Association of Volunteer Blood Donors. To that end, the 4s carry slogans encouraging people to become blood donors in order to save lives. The designs by M. Sinués include a suit of maces instead of batons and various different coins on the suit of coins. Most unusually for a Spanish pack, there are no borderlines and consequently no ‘pintas’ or border breaks to identify the individual suits. A banner from the Monastery of Santa Maria la Real de Las Huelgas is reproduced on the back of the cards. See the box►
