Hoover Ltd Playing Cards
Vintage cartoon court cards and ace of spades specially designed for Hoover Limited, with full colour back design showing the Art Deco style Hoover factory at Perivale, manufactured by Waddington's Playing Cards, c.1930. The first Hoover cleaners to come to the UK were manufactured in the company's factory in Canada. After the 1932 opening of the Perivale factory all Hoover vacuum cleaners sold in UK were manufactured there until WW2.
Above: two slightly diffrent versions of special cartoon court cards and ace of spades designed for Hoover Limited, with full colour back design, manufactured by Waddington's Playing Cards, c.1930. 52 cards + 1 Joker in box. There appear to have been at least 7 different versions of the Hoover playing cards with different back designs, aces of spades and variations in the court cards, but no special Jokers.
