Isle of Man playing cards by De La Rue & Goodall
Two different versions of Isle of Man playing cards from 1870 and 1914.
Here are two more souvenir packs of playing cards made for the Isle of man each showing scenic views of the Island on the aces.
The first is an older one from De La Rue, similar to the Goodall packs from an earlier post (see here) but showing different views in blue on the three scenic aces. It dates from about 1870 and is the only one that was made by De La Rue except for different colour back design.

'Manx Playing Cards' made for Phillips Bazaars, Douglas, I.O.M.
The second pack is later, from 1912, and is made by Chas.Goodall & Son Limd.
Goodall produced several packs using the same scenic aces between about 1898 and 1914 but with different size indices and various back designs. The wrapper shows that they were named 'Manx Playing Cards' and were made for Phillips Bazaars in Douglas.
Below: the wrapper from the Goodall pack.

I'm British but I have now lived in the Netherlands for more than 50 years and am still enjoying every minute of it. I started collecting playing cards in the early 1980’s after speaking with my neighbour who was at that time a croupier in a casino. I started with just collecting jokers, but that soon led me to complete packs of cards and eventually to specialising in old and antique playing cards, particularly those of C.L. Wüst of Frankfurt, Germany. I am presently the Dutch representative of the I.P.C.S. and the auctioneer at the IPCS conventions.
