Fujitsu playing cards
Colourful advertising pack for Fujitsu Limited, reminiscent of the flower power/psychedelic era.
At first glance, the colourful court cards with their round eyes appear to be completely non-standard. In fact, they are very loosely based on standard English pattern courts, having many of their traditional attributes and poses. There is a unity of colour within each suit. Most of the pips are arranged in a non-standard fashion. The cards themselves are elongated. The back design in silver, turquoise and black incorporates the Fujitsu logo in two corners in red, white and blue.
Above: advertising pack for Fujitsu Limited (Communications and Electronics), made by Nintendo P.C Co. Ltd, Kyoto, Japan, 1973. 52 cards + 2 Jokers in plastic box. Size: 58 x 100 mm.
