Das Nassauische Kartenspiel
Pack conceived by Berthold Conradi, commemorating the 700th anniversary of the granting of town rights to Idstein.
Members of several branches of the House of Nassau became rulers of different European states down through the centuries, including Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Great Britain and Ireland. Eminent figures from the House of Nassau are depicted on the court cards in this pack conceived by Berthold Conradi. The pack was issued on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the granting of town and market rights to Idstein/Taunus by King Rudolph of Habsburg. Adolf, Count of Nassau-Idstein-Sonnenberg, King of Germany and Holy Roman Emperor from 1292 to 1298, made Idstein his home. More historical details can be found in the extensive, fold-out leaflet.
