Budweiser Budvar beer
Colourful designs promoting Budweiser Budvar beer from Czechoslovakia.
Budweiser Budvar is a brewery in the Czech city of České Budějovice known for its pale lager. The humorous courts are all shown holding or drinking from kegs or glasses of beer. A slightly different colour scheme has been used in each suit. Garlands of hops, kegs, etc., decorate the four Aces. “Budweiser Budvar” is written somewhere on all the courts, Aces and Jokers, and also appears on the 10s and 4s. The 2s carry the emblem of Koospol, the centralised import and export agency for Czech agricultural products and supplies. The back design is made up largely of kegs and jugs in red on white with “Budweiser Budvar” at each end.
