Winnie the Pooh Rummy
Disney’s Winnie the Pooh and friends on a pack made for Eastern Europe.
Under the terms of the licensing agreement, these packs (large and small size) were made by Piatnik specifically for the Hungarian and Czech markets. The 13 different images of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger are repeated on the same card in each suit, with a fourteenth on the Joker. Each is set within an uneven frame. For the numeral cards, the appropriate number of bees are placed at the top of each card. See the box►

Roddy started collecting stamps on his 8th birthday. In 1977 he joined the newly formed playing-card department at Stanley Gibbons in London before setting up his own business in Edinburgh four years later. His collecting interests include playing cards, postcards, stamps (especially playing cards on stamps) and sugar wrappers. He is a Past President of the Scottish Philatelic Society, a former Chairman of the IPCS, a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards and Curator of the WCMPC’s collection of playing cards.
