Haig Whisky
Japanese advertising pack for Haig Scotch whisky with modified international courts.
The modified English (or international) pattern courts in this pack all look quite happy to be holding glasses ready to drink. But to drink what? Although this is an advertising pack for Haig Scotch whisky, the liquid contents of the glasses look red, in other words more like red wine! There is a special Ace of Spades. The manufacturer’s name appears on the two Jokers. All the designs are set against a mustard coloured background. On the back is an advertisement for Haig against a bright red background.
Above: Haig Whisky advertising deck made by Nintendo Playing Card Co. Ltd, Kyoto, Japan, c1980. 52 cards + 2 (identical) Jokers. No box. Size: 58 x 89 mm.
