Lattmann No.9 playing cards

with illustrated views of Dutch cities on the aces. This pack is for sale or exchange.

Germany Netherlands Lattmann 1880

This is a later version of an engraved pack published by F.A.Lattmann of Goslar, Germany in 1870 under the name 'Holländische Whist No.9'. This version is lithographically printed and stencil coloured and dates from about 1880. The company logo is found on the jack of hearts and the indication No.9 on the jack of clubs. The monochrome double ended aces depict views of Dutch cities originating from about 1860. These aces have been used on other packs by Lattmann for export to The Netherlands, and are also similar to those used by several Turnhout factories on their costume playing cards.
This particular pack is for Hombre and consists of 40 cards with gilded corners.

I'm British but I have now lived in the Netherlands for 50 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. I started collecting playing cards in the early 1980’s after speaking with my neighbour who was at that time a croupier in a casino. I started with just collecting jokers, but that soon led me to complete packs of cards and eventually to specialising in old and antique playing cards, particularly those of C.L. Wüst of Frankfurt, Germany. I am presently the Dutch representative of the I.P.C.S. and the auctioneer at the IPCS conventions.
